NEW HANOVER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF MECHANICSVILLE, VA – Discipleship Pastor

The Discipleship Pastor will provide leadership in the spiritual development, commitment, and involvement of adults in the life of the church. The candidate will seek to help our congregation develop a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ to serve him in the world. This person will seek to engage, connect, care and disciple every person through a team and functional process which serves our values, mission and vision. As an ordained leader, the Discipleship Pastor will assist with spiritual leadership of the congregation and strategic vision of the church working with Session to enact the will of Jesus Christ in our community.

Qualifications/Attributes

  • A Masters or a Doctor of Divinity degree
  • Ordination in the Presbyterian Church (USA)
  • Theologically conservative, scripturally based and spiritually driven
  • Evangelical in outlook and missions oriented

FORKS OF THE BRANDYWINE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF GLENMOORE, PA – Pastor

Looking for a solo pastor to lead and shepherd its 200 member congregation. Founded in 1735, the church is located 40 miles west of the city of Philadelphia in Chester County. While our congregation is currently largely middle aged and older, we seek to become part of the missional, evangelical, Reformed Presbyterian EPC of the 21st Century. We look to open our hearts and doors to the community, especially young families, so experience in guiding outreach is desired. Our new pastor will be an ordained minister currently serving or who has served in parish ministry. He will be strongly grounded in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God, skilled in the expository preaching of the Gospel, able to teach in the best Reformed tradition, and be a mature believer who has cultivated a close, devotional relationship with God. FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF BAKERSFIELD, CA – Director of Pre-Teen/Sports Ministries

First Presbyterian Church of Bakersfield, CA is an active and growing downtown congregation of 1000 active members. We seek a Christ-centered leader who can provide leadership and oversight to our Pre-Teen / Sports Ministries. The position works with youth and childrens' ministry teams, sharing an Administrator of Student Ministries for support. This person will be directly responsible for our 4-6 grade fellowship, a weekly After School program, and a Sports ministry including Upward Basketball, indoor soccer, and men's basketball. This position is accountable to the Executve Pastor and the church's CE Committee.

We seek someone who feels called specifically to Youth Ministry. Must be a capable organizer, recruiter, and a Christian of both emotional and faithful maturity.

WALNUT CREEK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, WALNUT CREEK, CA – Associate Pastor of Discipleship

Position Description:

To provide vision and leadership in developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive discipleship program at WCPC. The Associate Pastor will use a wide variety of skills to work with the senior pastor in carrying out the church's vision.

Responsibilities:

  1. Adult Ministries: Develop, direct, and implement the adult educational program. Oversee staff and volunteers who run women's, men's and other adult ministries.
  2. Curriculum Building: In collaboration with staff, develop and oversee an integrated plan for classes, small groups, retreats, and discipleship opportunities on a yearly basis.
  3. Leadership Development: Develop and mentor leaders within the church.
  4. Spiritual Development: Design and implement programs specifically focused on spiritual growth.
  5. Leadership of Staff and Volunteers: Provide direction and leadership in equipping lay members and staff to fulfill their unique role within the church body.
  6. Project Management: Provide oversight of church conferences, retreats, and other special events.
  7. Strategic Planning: Design and initiate long-term programs which will stimulate growth of the church and the spiritual development of those who attend.
  8. Teaching: Teach the word of God to help people discover and/or deepen a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  9. Training Volunteers: Help individuals discover and use their spiritual gifts in various positions and activities within the Church.
  10. General Pastoral Duties: Preach occasionally, participate as part of Session, and assist in various pastoral duties.

Position Qualifications:

The Associate Pastor of Discipleship must:

  1. Recruit, train, empower, and encourage lay leadership with an inclusive style, strong communication skills, and a genuinely caring spirit.
  2. Demonstrate flexibility and resiliency.
  3. Be a self-starter and show enthusiasm for building a Christian community while ministering to the entire church family.
  4. Possess the abilities of problem solving, decision making and creativity.
  5. Provide the right balance of leadership, training, and encouragement to empower lay leaders to reach the goals of the church.
  6. Provide appropriate levels of leadership and management of staff by delegating, taking the lead and/or simply remaining involved, as necessary.

STOW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, STOW, OH – Director of Christian Discipleship

The Director of Christian Discipleship is a full-time salaried position which oversees the programs and activities of adult, youth, and children's discipleship. Responsibilities would include:

  • Recruit, train, and retain quality volunteer directors to oversee the following areas: Infants and Toddlers, Pre-school, Primary, Intermediate, Middle School, High School, College, Women, Men, Families, Adult Bible Fellowships, Wednesday evening program, and Vacation Bible School.
  • Assist department directors (ministry staff) to recruit, train, and retain quality volunteers to serve in teaching and support roles.
  • Initiate, develop, and promote new ministry programs and activities within the framework of the mission of the church and the individual ministries.
  • Coordinate and supply existing and ongoing programs and activities.
  • Promote a team atmosphere among the volunteers through communication, encouragement, and education.
  • Develop policies and procedures with ministry staff as needed.
  • Maintain professional and equipping relationships with church staff, ministry volunteers, and participating families.
  • Resolve conflicts as needed.
  • Serve as liaison to the Pastor and church staff for the Discipleship ministries

This position requires a mature Christ-follower with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizations skills. The director must be able to effectively recognize, recruit, train and retain quality volunteers for the ministries' activities, as well as analyze ministry progress in terms of mission focus, program quality, and participation levels. The Director must be able to interact effectively with people as volunteers, as program participants, and as parents of program participants. The director must be creative, able to recognize good ideas, and capable of resolving conflicts while maintaining relationships. The director must also be fiscally accountable, able to handle multiple overlapping responsibilities, and produce high-quality work within budget. The Director must also agree to the Essentials of Our Faith located on the church's website.

Stow Presbyterian Church is an independent Presbyterian Church with a church family of 375 and is affiliated with the New Wineskins Association of Churches. Salary will be between $30,000 to $40,000 based on experience and abilities. The position does not include benefits. RIVER COMMUNITY CHURCH, PRAIRIEVILLE, LA., A SUBURB OF BATON ROUGE, LA. – Senior Pastor

We are a young church based on reformed theology which is expressed in a creative, upbeat, contemporary worship service. FAITH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, COVINGTON, LA - Pastor

Located about an hour away from New Orleans on what is commonly called the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain among the growing and thriving tri-communities of Madisonville, Mandeville, and Covington. Faith Presbyterian is a congregation of about 100 members that seeks an ordained pastor who believes, preaches, and teaches the Bible as the infallible Word of God in the Reformed Tradition. Candidates should be either ordained in the EPC or eligible to be ordained in the EPC. Present worship style is traditional with some contemporary elements using a variety of music. Responsibilities include the ministerial duties of preaching, teaching, and ministering to the needs of the congregation through pastoral care, visitation, and counseling. Our current staff consists of a full time office administrator and children's ministry director. The congregation formed in January 2000 and is worshiping and serving in their newly constructed sanctuary and classroom buildings on eight acres of land.
